PROJECTS WITH JAMES APPLETON
PERFECT
WORLD by Peter Devonald and James Appleton (short, 20mins) Simon's
modern life is rubbish and all he ever does is moan about it. Smacked in the gut
by fate, his day job is a litany of boredom and humiliation, his home life a tragic
waste of missed opportunities and frugality. But when an accident turns his world
upside down Simon finds himself in a limbo between life and death and the world
becomes everything Simon ever wanted. Surely he should be happy? But there's just
one thing: Simon's got nothing to complain about now
and maybe he's only
happy when he's miserable. A PLACE IN THE SKY by James Appleton
and Peter Devonald (short, 15mins) Granddad used to be a pilot during the
war and his tips on aviation help loner Charlie win a rocket flying contest at
school. When a proud Charlie returns home to tell him, Granddad has disappeared.
Charlie's Mum tells him he's gone to a place in the sky'. Charlie stars
up at the moon, just wants Granddad to know that this time he won... TRAPPED
by James Appleton and Peter Devonald The epic struggle of one man stuck in
a 6' by 6' space for days on end... an unusual adventure in the smallest of places.
