Scrantz and Peter Devonald LOGLINE PITCH Instead in 2007 a penniless French playboy is hurting for money until his wealthy, estranged father dies, leaving a vast fortune. Only problem is, in order to inherit it, Luc must win over and marry every Frenchman's mortal enemy - an English woman. With only seven days to accomplish it, and a jealous French mistress to contend with, can he accomplish the impossible? AWARDS THE WRITERS SYNOPSIS When Luc's father dies, it should have been the happiest day of his life... but the reading of the will changes everything. The father stipulates that for him to gain his vast fortune, he must marry every Frenchman's mortal enemy - an English woman. With only seven days to accomplish it, and detectives making sure he doesn't tell anyone the terms of the marriage, his task appears impossible. In London, Dawn misses out on her promotion on what should have been the best night of her life. Appalled and upset, she leaves her job. She's in serious trouble. But not half as much trouble as Luc in Paris. Stripped of all his money, and too well known a player to marry, no English women in France will touch him with a barge poll. Time is running out. Luc prepares to go to England. Sylvie, his longest term 'girlfriend', essentially a female version of him, prepares him with a warning: don't eat the English food or water. Luc goes to England, tries the lonely hearts, but women can smell his desperation and poverty. Luc changes policy, runs into Dawn and offers her a job as his personal assistant and invites her to Paris. With her life in ruins - her boyfriend gone, no job and seemingly no way out of her predicament - she goes there, all expenses paid. Paris is everything England isn't; sunny, gorgeous, warm. And through a series of bizarre and funny set ups, Luc shows himself as everything a woman could want -charming, enthusiastic, caring, loving, the ideal man... But Dawn is quickly lost in this place. The culture is strange, foreign and, hell, she is English. In the greatest night of her
life, Luc takes Dawn to a concert for her favorite singer. There, flushed
with happiness and joy, Luc seizes his moment and asks for her hand in
marriage. She hesitates. Can she really marry someone she barely knows?
