VOTED NUMBER TWO SCRIPT ON FRANCIS FORD COPPOLA'S AMERICAN ZOETROPE FILM SCHOOL Overall: 7.80 Concept: Psychic/cop thriller. Exciting page-turner. I definitely wanted to know what was going to happen next. Easy read - I liked the blend of cop and psychic stuff and there was plenty going on I definitely want to read the next episode. Good plot, good dialogue, exciting sense of mystery and suspense. Great marrying of cop and mystery.' (B.C.B.) Overall I think this is compelling, fast paced and nicely creepy. Your writing is lean and mean, and it taught me a lot about keeping descriptions concise - my own sp is far too wordy by comparison. I loved the set-up I was swept up in the story and, when I came to the end, I wanted to know what was going to happen next - and when you get right down to it, that's the most important thing a pilot should do. (S.C.) Great sp. Very suspenseful and it kept me thinking. Good idea for a pilot. I thought that you did a very good job gaining the interest of the reader and continued to hold it until finished. It was a quick read, and would be great for a TV series. (M.J.W.) Some interesting elements Pacing: Good to Very Good. Originality: Good FORMAT/TECHNICAL: Good to Very Good. (L.K.) Emergence was
a complete pleasure to read. It is a wonderful thriller with some very
interesting paranormal twists. It was a breeze to read. You kept the pace
lively and focused from beginning to end. You pulled me into the action
right away. And Hopkin's gun turning into a cross was a signal I was not
in for the same old cop story. Good twists and turns as the attention
shifts from Hopkins to Black Scorpion to Trevor O'Neil as the focus of
trouble. Francis, a strong, capable female lead
You've created a
complex lead with all kinds of grey areas to explore,in both her personal
and professional life.(M.G.)
