Having written full time since 1990, Peter Devonald has had several short films produced, many of which have appeared in festivals. These include the award-winning short film FROZEN, directed by Emile Guertin, and ANIMAL VEGETABLE MACHINE, directed by Debra Watson with Amyric Films/MTV Europe.

Devonald currently has several short films in production in England, Ireland and America. These include Jason Edwards (THE CALLING), Danny Fox (THE APPOINTMENT) and Scott Rawsthorne (BEGGAR'S BELIEF).

Though Devonald almost exclusively writes for the screen now, in the past, he has had thirteen full length theatre shows performed at a variety of venues throughout England, including the Palace Theatre (Watford), Playroom, T.I.E. tour of Barrow/ Lancaster and a rehearsed public reading at the Contact Theatre. Devonald's "MASKS AND ANGELS" (1995 Nuffield Theatre) received a special award for excellence by the National Student Drama Fest, directed by Steve Cope and Rob Warren with Blue Elegance.

Devonald has also script edited three short films, as well as having four short stories and much poetry published. His scripts have placed in many competitions, including Best Screenplay on Francis Ford Coppola's American Zoetrope site (Feature: HOW TO PULL AN ENGLISH BIRD), Unanimous Winner of Raindance Live Ammunition, Best Script on Zoetrope Film School (TV Series: TALES FROM THE TWENTY FIRST CENTURY), two Top Tens on Kevin Spacey's Triggerstreet.com, Finalist in the International Student Play competition, Final Shortlist in the Lloyds Bank Film Challenge, and Joint Winner of the London Playwright of the Year.

Writing is Devonald's vocation. He often writes personal stories, writes from dreams, writes to create dreams. This is one of the reasons that attracted him to working with Luke Losey, a director with an immense personal vision. He has supplemented his talent by attending media classes including a theatre degree (2:1 Lancaster University), evening classes at the Northern Film School and the residential National Academy Of Writing (awarded best script by Celia Brayfield/Paul Ashton, and selected as a winner by The Times newspaper).
