Sometimes, playing games really is a matter of life and death.

SYNOPSIS
Chuck's life was going nowhere. Working for a credit company, dumped by his girlfriend and seeing no way out of his empty life, he starts playing a computer game - The Peeps. But this is no ordinary computer game. On one level the game is merely a simulation game - where Chuck can play God and take out his frustrations in a virtual world. But the game is so much more. Chuck is able to scan images from real life and create characters that walk around in an environment he has total control over. It might still just be a computer game, but it has real life changes in Chucks outlook and morality.

And everything is about to take an amazing twist…

In a freak accident, a lighting storm breathes real life into The Peeps. Suddenly, the characters actually exist - they are real, thinking, living beings. And the game really is a matter of life and death.

As Chuck realizes the significance of his actions, his ex girlfriend, Krista, returns and moves in with him. He allows her to crash on his couch, but he's through with her romantically. She doesn't take kindly to being ignored and is especially annoyed that he's seeing Joanna, his boss, and obsessed with the computer game.

Once the Peeps has been started, the game cannot be stopped. But this doesn't stop Krista making life hell for the Peeps. Resilient as ever, The Peeps survive, but then Krista finds a list of cheat codes and types in the one to TERMINATE the game.

Everything in the game goes awry - marauding monsters, erratic weather, rock monsters, dragons and the horseman of the apocalypse ravage the once tranquil kingdom.

Chuck is powerless to stop it.

Instead, he tracks down the game's creator, a disgruntled teenager, who is annoyed with the company because they didn't create a 'safe' mode. The Kid tries to help him correct the game, but it's no use. The only way for Chuck to save The Peeps is to actually go into the game itself - through a VR machine. The one problem is that if he dies in the game, he dies in real life.

Chuck finds himself doing battle in the computer game against all manner of bizarre evils. The game Creator watches helplessly; Krista watches with glee. But will Chuck be able to fight through the game and save his world? And will he be strong enough to learn the true lesson of The Peeps?
