Sorry for the lack of recent updates: I've been extremely busy with new scripts and script editing. THE JOURNEY recently premiered: an extremely impressive, different style of short film: very different pace, beautiful images and style. Congrats to Katina and everyone involved. END OF THE WORLD is in the final stages of post production and looks very good indeed. The rushes for : - ) are also extremely encouraging. Thanks to Signals Arts for their funding and support. TOAST is in the final edit: festival details will be announced soon. The work couldn't have been made without the help of the Open Lens awards: thank you for your support. THE CALLING is nearly complete, as is the documentary NYINGTOB LING: REALM OF COURAGE. Details will be on here when they're available. EPOCH is scheduled for filming in 2006. There are also a couple of works scheduled with SAM EMMERY directing. Overall its been a good year. .357 had a lot of success, including selection at the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival 2005, evening standard pick of the night when it showed on MTV UK September 13th 2005: Gun Crime Night, and winner of Best Drama at New York International Independent Film & Video Festival 2005. BEGGARS BELIEF continued its good festival run (Big Issue Film Festival, Community TV, Triggerstreet official selection and shown in a dozen countries through TresCourts and Capalbio). As well as the films in the final stages of post production, Bedsit and Walkies were also filmed this year. Several other films have director/ producer attachments - and will be seeking funding in the new year. Obviously the lack of a feature/ TV series is disappointing given the near misses, but such is the nature of the industry. STAR has progressed significantly this year and currently is seeking funding in India. The IEMMY'S: 2005 Sir Peter Ustinov Scriptwriting Award was also a significant success this year and, subject to sponsorship, I will be actively involved again next year. In the meantime, may I wish you all a superb Christmas, New Year and a highly successful 2006. Thanks for all the support this year - have a great holiday - and best wishes Peter Devonald
